New energy vehicles, future development trend

Developing new energy vehicles (NEVs) is the only way for China to move from a big auto country to a big auto country, and it is also a strategic measure to deal with climate change and promote green development.  In November 2020, The General Office of the State Council issued the New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035), proposing that through 15 years of continuous efforts, China's core technologies of new energy vehicles should reach the international advanced level, and quality brands should have strong international competitiveness.

Under the pressure of energy and environmental protection, new energy vehicles will undoubtedly become the development direction of future cars. If the rapid development of new energy vehicles is achieved, with 140 million vehicles in China in 2020, 32.29 million tons of oil can be saved and 31.1 million tons of oil can be replaced, with a total of 63.39 million tons of oil saved, and replaced, equivalent to a 22.7% reduction in automotive oil demand.

Combined with China's energy and resources situation and the development trend of international automobile technology, it is expected that after 2025, ordinary gasoline vehicles will only account for about 50% of the total number of passenger vehicles in China, while advanced diesel vehicles, gas vehicles, biofuel vehicles, and other new energy vehicles will develop rapidly
